Being Overweight is Depressing and Painful


Hi my name is Dawson Church from EFT
Universe I’d love to share with you today a little bit about my story and
about what happens when you’re overweight I spent most of my adult life
really overweight over 280 pounds and it was really difficult my energy levels
were low I had lots of inflammation my body I tried lots
of diets they didn’t work and what research shows is that it’s not just
being a weight it’s also affecting your mood there is a link in many studies
between depression feeling bad about himself in the world and being
overweight now the research doesn’t tell us whether being depressed leads to
being overweight whether being overweight least being depressed
I suspect they probably go together but I know I spent a lot of my life not a
very happy person and what I learned to shift that when I learned to shift my
weight my mood changed dramatically as well I felt much much happier also we’ve
done a lot of research into as we apply meditation and EFT acupressure tapping
to weight loss people don’t merely lose the weight they also find their mood
improves and those clouds of depression just lift this improves the relationships
between them and their husbands and their wives their children their parents
people in their community and they feel much better and much nicer to be around
and so that improves the quality of life of their friendships and their social
circle as well another corollary of being overweight is pain a lot of people
are in physical pain and you know that if you’re overweight it causes all kinds
of aches and pains in your body did you know that your knees really start to
degenerate if you’re overweight even in you’re not in your twenties every pound
of weight above the knee that you carry above your knees puts 5 pounds of
pressure on your knees so if you are
50 pounds overweight you have 250 pounds of extra pressure on your knees so if
you weigh 250 pounds now you have an extra 250 pounds on your knees because
of that overweight and now you have 500 pounds of pressure on your knees no
wonder your knees give out your ankles start to hurt your hips give you trouble
you have lower back pain because you’re carrying around all of the extra weight
also you’re fragile if you trip and fall you’re falling from and you’re bringing
all this mass down from a higher center of gravity and all that mass you can
even hurt more than you would if you weren’t overweight so overweight people
cope with a lot more pain a lot more depression and many other things that
are a huge challenge now my heart goes out to you for most of my adult life I
was that person I was that guy struggling with low self-esteem
struggling with depression as I was over 280 pounds but when I learned the
science behind weight loss and lost that extra weight I felt found myself feeling
so much better now I run up stairs two at a time just like I did when I was in
college so I’m so enthusiastic about life your mood improves you no longer
risk injury and everything starts to shift so I encourage you to learn these
